Tim
Tim is a cup collection inspired by the beautiful Inhotim Institute, located in Brumadinho - MG / Brazil.
More than a contemporary art museum, Inhotim is cultural centre and a botanical garden. Among its galleries it is possible to see artworks of national and international renowned artists, such as Tunga, Adriana Varejão, Hélio Oiticica, Cildo Meireles, Doug Aitken, Matthew Barney and Yayoi Kusama.
A field research was realized in order to understand the ideals of the cultural centre and the whole visitant-souvenir-museum relation. Since the souvenir affection was important for the project, Emotional Design was the main focus in the literature field.
The concept behind the project consists in the analysis of the most relevant artworks exposed at Inhotim.
After the analysis, three basis concepts came up: contrast, mirror and obstacle.
The following five cups are the final result of this one-year-and-a-half-research.
